Madge M. Lawrence, age 87 of Springville, passed away Friday, February 7, 2020 at Morningside of Paris. Her funeral service will be 12:00 PM Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Rev. Linda Hilliard of Antioch United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00 AM Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home prior to the service. Pallbearers for Mrs. Lawrence will be Pat Lawrence, Joe Stobaugh, Tyler Lawrence, Joey Jones, James Faerber, and Gary Rice. Madge M. Lawrence was born September 6, 1932 in Itawamba County, Mississippi to the late Clelon Surratt and the late Eula Page Surratt. On June 10, 1951 she married Alvin Patrick "Pat" Lawrence and he preceded her in death on February 26, 1996. Mrs. Lawrence is survived by two daughters: Susan C. (Gary) Rice of Buchanan, TN and Sally K. (Phillip) Stobaugh of Plano, TX; one son, Pat (Karen) Lawrence of Buchanan, TN; nine grandchildren: Abigail Frizzell, Joe (Sarah) Stobaugh, Chelsea (James) Faerber, Michael (Tara) Lawrence, Shelly (Joey) Jones, Tyler Lawrence, Jeremy (Jennifer) Rice, Leah (Buck) Watkins, and Ashley (Seth) Arant; nineteen great grandchildren; and two sisters: Jacqueline (John) Partin of Gloucester, VA and Joyce North of Buchanan, TN. Mrs. Lawrence was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church and was a district Lay Leader. She was involved in the Food Bank and she started the Paris Landing Birding Club. She tutored children at Lakewood School and was in the Homemakers Club. She was with the American Red Cross Disaster Relief and a member of the local bridge club.
