OBITUARY FOR MARGARET MAE MAXEDON MACDONALD Margaret Mae Maxedon MacDonald, 88, died November 17th, in Paris at Henry County Health Care Center. She was born on September 5, 1924 in the Sunnyside Community outside Paris to Mae Maxwell Maxedon and Herbert Maxedon. Margaret spoke fondly of her early years playing with the many children that lived near her on Grove Boulevard. The family relocated to their new home on East Wood Street in 1935 that still stands next to East Wood Clinic. Margaret graduated from E. W. Grove High School in 1941. Following high school, Margaret worked in the office at Camp Tyson where she met her husband Alexander MacDonald. They married at the First United Methodist Church on February 26, 1943. Alex was sent to New York for military training and Margaret worked at the New York Port of Embarkations scheduling military shipments to Europe for the troops. They enjoyed evenings in New York seeing such big bands as Harry James and Gene Krupa. After Alex returned from the War, they raised five children and Alex owned MacDonald Auto and Industrial Supply Parts and MacDonald Realty and Auction Company on East Wood Street in Paris. Alex passed away in 1973. Margaret worked for and managed Leachs Music in Paris from 1965 to 1975. In 1975, Margaret moved to the Atlanta area to be near her children and grandchildren. She returned to Paris in 2004. Margaret is survived by her sisters Janice Mann of Paris and Joan Huff of Brentwood, TN. Her children: Dr. Patricia Boone of Colorado Springs, CO, Dianne Kay Creighton of Burlington, WA, William Alexander MacDonald of Fayetteville, GA, James Herbert MacDonald of Emerson, GA and David Franklin MacDonald of Hiram, GA. Her grandchildren are Richard Covington of Riverside, CA, Jennifer Carroll of Murray, KY, Alicia MacDonald of Los Angeles, CA, Alex MacDonald of Fayetteville, GA, Jamie Wilkerson of Prince Fredricksburg, MD, Bryan Alexander MacDonald of Cartersville, GA, Kyle MacDonald and Kalabe MacDonald of Knoxville, TN, Taylor MacDonald and Jordan MacDonald of Hiram, GA. Great Grandchildren are Zoey Mae Covington, Chantry Allen Carroll, Calle Alise Carroll, Cole Thomas Carroll, Benjamin Paul Wilkerson, Jacob Martin Wilkerson, Makenzie MacDonald, Jackson MacDonald and Samantha MacDonald. Funeral Services will be held at McEvoy Funeral Home on Saturday at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM and after 11:00 AM Saturday morning at McEvoy Funeral Home.
