Mrs. Martha Nichols Hopkins, age 97 of Paris, passed away Monday, December 26, 2016 at her residence. Her graveside services will be at 10:00AM Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Poplar Grove Cemetery with Bro. Gary Collier officiating. Burial will follow and no visitation is scheduled. Martha Nichols Hopkins was born June 19, 1919 in Henry County, Tennessee to the late Jerry Lander Nichols and the late Pearline Ann Throgmorton Nichols. On October 16, 1937 she married Jeremiah "Jerry" Franklin Hopkins who preceded her in death on May 31, 1996. She was also preceded in death by a son, Richard G. Hopkins; a sister, Novella Moore; and two brothers, Vernal Nichols and John Nelson Nichols. Mrs. Hopkins is survived by a daughter, Jeanne Jenson of Tucson, Arizona; a son David F. Hopkins of Arnold, Maryland; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Hopkins was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church and she was a homemaker.
