Mrs. Mary Jane Cacicia Adams, age 93, passed away at her home on Friday, June 20, 2025. Her funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 with Bro. Charles Cate of New Bethel Church of Christ to officiate. Named as pallbearers are Jeremy Murray, Joe Darnall, Lee Roy Pierce, Mark Pierce, Jason Shoulders, and Ryan Shoulders; honorary pallbearers are Jeremy Glastetter, Russell Sweatman, Jesse Parker, and Brandon Bethune . Burial will follow the service in Bethel Cemetery in Buchanan.
Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Monday and after 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday until time of service.
Mary Jane was born June 29, 1931 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to the late John Cacicia and the late Carmela Vaccaro Cacicia. She married Desmond Adams on November 26, 1953 and he preceded her in death on May 17, 2006. She is also survived by her daughter, Debbie (Mike) Shoulders of Clarksville; daughter-in-law, Debbie Adams, of Puryear; grandchildren, Jason (Victoria) Shoulders, Ryan Shoulders, and Meghann Shoulders; Ami (Joe) Darnall, Erin (Jeremy) Murray, Colleen (Jeremy) Glastetter, Jessica (Russell Sweatman) Adams, Mark Pierce, and Lee Roy (Tammy) Pierce; great-grandchildren, Twenty; sisters-in-law, Cynthella (Jimmy Joe) Stewart of St. Augustine, Florida and Ruth Cacicia; brother-in-law, Sherrell (Joan) Adams, Murray, Kentucky; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Mary Jane was an avid reader who enjoyed watching her birds and hummingbirds at their feeders. She was a world traveler, sharing many exciting stories with her family and close friends. Mary Jane was a U.S. Navy veteran, a Christian by faith, and worked at Springville School as Librarian for a number of years. And in her own words, "I want all to know I am humbled and blessed to be Mother, Mother-in-law, Grand maw, and Memaw, and Pumba to all."
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
