Mary Ruth Atchison Bradshaw born November 27, 1929, age 81 departed this world June 25, 2011. She was the only child born to the late V. Roy and Mary Della Throgmorton Atchison. Preceding her in death was her husband, David A. Bradshaw. She leaves to cherish her memory and mourn her passing her two children Debra (Randy) Odom of Fairview, Tennessee, Greg (Kristy Nalley-fiancee) Bradshaw of Paris, Tennessee; four grandchildren Ashley Dwire, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Logan Bradshaw, Paris, Tennessee, Mary Beth (Mike) Hagan, Smyrna, Tennessee, Keith Odom, Knoxville, Tennessee; two great-grandchildren Abby Hagan and Caleb Hagan, Smyrna, Tennessee. A published creative writer and poet, her book Streams of Life, was published in 1992 and in 1995 she was nominated Poet of the Year by the International Society of Poets. She held distinguished membership in the International Society of Poets; was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class along with membership in the National Democratic Party and Henry County Democratic Womens Organization. She attended Tolers Business College and completed her training when she entered her career as a bookkeeper; though her professional career was not lengthy she took great pride in being an active church member, homemaker, parent, and grandparent. Her funeral services will be conducted by Bro. John Smith at 2:00 PM Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home in Paris, TN, with burial to follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 8:00 PM Monday and after 11:00 AM Tuesday. Pallbearers will be William Atchison, Joel Atchison, Charlie Miller, Charlie Cate, Greg Bradshaw, and Randy Odom.
