Ms. Mary Ellen Peters, age 61 of Puryear, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville. A private family service will be conducted by Bro. DeWayne Chadwick of Puryear Baptist Church. Family members will serve as pallbearers and burial will take place in Puryear City Cemetery. No public visitation is scheduled. Mary Ellen Peters was born April 28, 1960 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Raymond J. Peters and Mary A. Kish Peters who survives in Puryear. She is also survived by her sister, Julia (John) Wilkins also of Puryear; niece and nephews, David (Lisa) Nycz, Raymond (Amanda) Strahan, Barbara (West) Whitehead and Michael (Christie) Strahan; numerous great nieces, great nephews and other family members. Mary worked at Briggs and Stratton for a number of years before its closing. She loved her family and her two dogs.
