Mary E. Melton, age 82 of Paris, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Henry County Healthcare Center. Her memorial service will be 10:00 AM Friday, February 23, 2018 at Fairview Baptist Church with Dr. John Smith officiating. Her body is to be cremated and no visitation is scheduled prior to the service. Mary Elizabeth Melton was born August 12, 1935 to the late John Miller and the late Frances Augusta Prahl Miller. In 1984 she married James Melton and he preceded her in death on February 14, 2006. Ms. Melton is survived by two daughters: Shirley Hughey of Greeneville, TN and Frances (Ronnie) Hastings of Paris, TN; two sons: Richard Forthman (Tina Ellis) of Paris, TN and Gary Forthman of Sumter, SC; one sister, Barbara Greek of Clewiston, FL; one brother, Delbert (Pat) Miller of Zephyr Hills, FL; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and special friend, Stella Hutcherson. Besides her parents and husband, Mary was also preceded in death by a son, Marvin Forthman; two sisters: Nelda Davis and Delores Hovius; one brother, Leon Miller; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Forthman; and a son-in-law, Ron Hughey.
