Mary Lou Underwood, age 92, of Jackson, TN, formerly of Puryear, TN, passed away July 6, 2016 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson. Funeral service 1:00PM Saturday, July 9, 2016 at McEvoy Funeral Home. Officiating will be Dr. Barry Scott and Bill Simmons (her Sunday School Teacher) both of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Jackson, TN. Visitation Saturday July 9, 2016 11:00AM until service time at 1:00PM. Mrs. Underwood was born September 30, 1923 in Puryear, TN to the late Robert Love Morris, Sr. and Lena Bethel Hall Morris. On May 26, 1940 she married Edgar Earl Underwood, he preceded March 30, 1986. Survived by a daughter: Nancy Wheatley, Huntingdon, TN; son: Danny (Martha) Underwood, Jackson, TN; grandchildren: six; great-grandchildren: eighteen; great-great-grandchildren: four, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Preceded by sisters: Beth Morris Wilson, Margaret Morris Scarbrough McCuiston, Mildred Frances Morris; brothers: William Benjamin Morris, Robert Love Morris, Jr., John Carson Morris, Thomas Hall Morris and Harry Lee Morris. She was member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Jackson, TN where she was also a member of Irene Wheat Adult Fellowship Class and the U.M.W.
