Mr. Max E. Cook, age 85, of Paris, TN passed away December 6, 2014. Funeral with be held at First United Methodist Church at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 10, 2014. Visitation will be at McEvoy Funeral Home 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 9, and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church prior to service. Service will be officiated by Dr. Rob Martin and Dr. Joe Geary. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Named as pallbearers are Ray Harding, Jerry Walker, Andy Hooper, Tommy Wimberley, Ronald Kreamer and Raymond Kreamer. The Ambassador Class of First United Methodist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Mr. Cook was born February 13, 1929 in Graves County, Kentucky to the late Jim S. Cook and Luna Pittman Cook, both preceded. On April 18, 1954 he married his wife of 58 years, Joanne Ray Cook, who preceded on January 28, 2012. He is survived by nieces: Peggy (Jerry) McCree, Morristown, TN; Marla Kay Spina, Illinois; Doris R. Kreamer, River Grove, IL. Also by Two great-nieces, Three great-nephews, and Nine Great great-nieces and nephews. Mr. Cook is also preceded by a sister Lexie Nell Camp, and a brother Rev. Hallie B. Cook. Mr. Cook retired from TVA in Chattanooga, TN after 35 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran and also worked for FEMA for 10 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Paris where he assisted in teaching Sunday school and was an usher. He also served as a lay speaker to several local Methodist churches and was active in establishing disaster programs in local areas.
