Max Roy Erwin, age 92, of Millington, Tennessee formerly of Springville passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at his daughter's residence. His funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 16, 2017 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Hoots officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family members. Visitation is scheduled after 11:00 A.M. on Saturday until time of service. Mr. Erwin was born on May 21, 1925 in Hayti, Missouri to the late Joseph Oscar Erwin and the late Tynie Maybel McGarity Erwin. Max was also preceded in death by his wife: Lorene Estelle Cheek Erwin on May 13, 2017. He is survived by his daughters: Judy Fullwood of Grand Blanc, Michigan and Brenda Buys of Millington, Tennessee; ten grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren and seventeen great great grandchildren. Max is also preceded in 2002 by his son: Billy R. Erwin; his four sisters Laura Rea Cheek, Minola Carter, Arlie Mae DePriest, Martha Jean Campbell; his three brothers: William Ray Erwin, Paul Ward Erwin, and Carl David Erwin and another brother who preceded in infancy. Mr. Erwin was a member of the United Pentecostal Church and a Veteran in the United States Army, serving in WWII. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service in Michigan.
