Melanie Mitchell, age 80 of Paris, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Henry County Medical Center. Her body is to be cremated and a celebration of life will be planned for a later date. Melanie Mitchell was born January 12, 1943 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Fred Mitchell and the late Frankie McInturff Mitchell. She is survived by her son, David (Holly) Big Mountain of Puryear, Tennessee; grandson, Beau (Samantha) Big Mountain of Big Sandy, Tennessee; great grandchildren, Luca and Sadie Big Mountain; and by close family friends, Sandy Rowlett and Ty Bennett. Ms. Mitchell worked at the Paris Civic Center for over 20 years and was an active member of many local civic organizations, including the Easter Star, Martha Chapter #155. She was a longtime member and former pastor of the Community of Christ Church in Paris. Melanie was a very crafty lady who was well known by many for her handmade jewelry.
