Melda Lynn Honeycutt Townsend LaRue age 75 of Buchanan, Tennessee passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019 following an automobile accident. Her family will gather for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 1, 2019, 12:00 P.M. at Senior Citizens in Adamsville, Tennessee and on Sunday, June 9, 2019, 1:00 P.M. at Springville, TN American Legion Post 89 a Celebration of Life and Recognition of Volunteer Service Ceremony will be held for family and friends. Melda Lynn was born November 14, 1943 in Burnsville, Mississippi to the late James Taswell Honeycutt, Sr. and the late Hattie Stricklen Grissom. She is survived by step-son, Butch Townsend of Jackson, Mississippi; sister, Denise Timbes of Burnsville, Mississippi; brothers, James (Sylvia) Honeycutt of Adamsville, Tennessee and Jerry Honeycutt of Jackson, Mississippi; nieces, Aleisa (Randy) McKee, Kim (Tim) Owens, Roxanne (Michael) Hubbard, Shelley Longest, and Brittany (Jamison) Roberts; nephews, Mark (Sherry) Honeycutt, Steve Honeycutt, Greg (Christine) Honeycutt, Joel (Stefanie) Honeycutt, Brad (Savannah) Forsythe; and special friend, Jackie Trawick of Buchanan. Besides her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sister, Judith Ann "Judy" Holloway. Ms. Townsend-LaRue worked as a florist, caterer and event planner for several years, later working and retiring from Ingram Barge Company as a chef. She was also an active volunteer with the Antioch Amvets Post.
