Michael A. Iosue, age 69, of Springfield, TN passed away December 1, 2014. Mike was a graduate of Bosse High School in Evansville, IN and Vanderbilt University in 1970 where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. He was a leader in the textile and decorated apparel industry for over 35 years. Mike was an avid golfer, sports enthusiast and loyal Commodores fan. Much to his familys delight, in his later years he discovered he was a very talented cook, serving up the best prime rib, chicken parmesan and fettuccini alfredo meals in the northern hemisphere.
In spring 2011 he was diagnosed with AML. Given a 10% chance of surviving 2 years, Mike valiantly battled this disease, enduring many sessions of chemo therapy, setbacks, and a bone marrow transplant. In the 3 years post diagnosis, Mike remained positive and upbeat. He lifted up everyone around him with that quick wit and sense of humor. He lived these months and years to the fullest and captured the best that each day, relationship, and experience gave him. Mike charged forward into topical debates on politics, sports, family folklore and heavy metal mosh pits.
Michael was born February 24, 1945. He was preceded in death by his parents Bedie Mae Newman and Salvatore Iosue, as well as his sister Medora Madison. Michael is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara (Mullane) Iosue. He is also survived by his son Michael (Laura) Iosue, his grandson Jonathan, his niece Dorothy Moog, and many cousins.
