Mildred B. Cate

Mrs. Cate passed away on March 27th, 2011 at the age of 98 in Alpharetta, Georgia. Her memorial service will be at 12:00 noon Saturday, April 9th at McEvoy Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until service time on Saturday. Mrs. Cate had most recently resided in Dahlonega, Georgia. She spent most of her adult life in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, until her husbands retirement in the late 1970s. They retired to Gastonia, North Carolina before moving to Chattanooga, Tennessee to be near their grandchildren. Her hometown however always remained Henry, Tennessee, where she grew up on the family farm. She was preceded in death by her very dear husband, Ralph Cate and by her two children Frank Cate and Melissa Lyle. She was also preceded by all of her siblings, Mrs. Julia D Taylor, Mrs. Ruby Wright, Mr. C.B. Smith, and Mrs. Willie Grace Brewer. She is survived by her four grandchildren, Lori Duvic, Phil Cate, Julie Ingram, and Rhonda Wilson; her great-grandchildren, Lauren Inman, Sara Hilzendeger, Ryan Sherwood, Davis Ingram, Ashton Cate, Morgan Duvic, Shelby Wilson, Jackson Ingram, Trey Wilson and her great-great-grandson, Conner Hilzendeger. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
