Modeane Lamb Newberry, age 89, of Gleason, Tennessee passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017 at the Weakley County Nursing Home. Her funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 14, 2017 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Ross of Thompson Creek Baptist Church and Bro. Kerry Shopher of Ralston Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are: Ernie Diggs, Mike Baker, Don Newberry, Larry Parker, Jerry Simmons, and Garth Baker. Mrs. Newberry was born February 16, 1928 in Weakley County, Tennessee to the late Horace Lamb and late Earl Rawls Lamb. She married Robert E. Newberry on October 29, 1949 and he preceded her in death on October 2, 2000. Modeane is survived by: her nieces: Jane Hackney and Holly Thomason; nephews: Glen, Neil, and Dr. Don Newberry; numerous great nieces and great nephews; and her special friend and caretaker: Linda Davis of Gleason. She is also preceded in death by her sister: Zulene Summers. Mrs. Newberry was a graduate of Palmersville High School. She worked and retired from H.I.S. in Gleason with over 32 years of service. Modeane was a member of Thompson Creek Baptist Church. She was also a Homemaker who cooked and canned from her garden. SERVICES Funeral Service
