Billie "Mr. Bill" Walker, age 91 of Buchanan passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019 at his residence. His funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at McEvoy Funeral Home conducted by family members. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, February 26, 2019 with Masonic Rites at 6:30. Visitation will also be after 1:00 PM Wednesday prior to the service all at McEvoy Funeral Home.
Billie B. Walker was born April 16, 1927 in Henry County, Tennessee to the late Burrow James Walker and the late Iva Miranda McDaniel Walker. On June 4, 1947 he married Vera Fay Hopwood Walker and she preceded him in death on July 2, 2000. He is survived by his special friend Emma Orren of Buchanan, TN; one daughter, Gail (Robert) Nevins of Indianapolis, IN; one son, H. Walker of Indiana; two grandchildren: Michael Ingle and Danny Walker; one sister, Jean Cloar of Paris, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, Mr. Walker was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Scott Ingle; and a brother, Charles Walker.
Bill Walker was a Mason joining in 1960 and earning his 50 year pin in 2010. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in the Philippines and he owned a knife sharpening business.
