Survived by his wife: Gina Thompson Waldkoetter, Puryear; mother: Mary Ann Vice Waldkoetter, Puryear; daughters: Amanda (Brandon) Waldkoetter-Leach, Paducah, KY, Mary Kylee Waldkoetter, Puryear; sons: Scotty Waldkoetter, Jr., Marion, KY, William Ed Waldkoetter, Paducah, KY; grandchildren: Landon Calhoun, Jayden Leach and Bailey Wahl, all of Paducah, KY. Preceded by his father: Ed Waldkoetter. Nelson was a Baptist by faith. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. It was said that Nelson loved his family and especially his grandchildren.
