Nira Mae Rogers Crowder, age 86 of Puryear, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Henry County Healthcare Center. Her funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 23, 2019 at McEvoy Funeral Home with burial to follow services in Walker Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled at McEvoy on Saturday, after 9:00 A.M. until time of service. Nira Mae was born on August 10, 1933 in Paris, Tennessee to the late Guy H. Rogers and the late Bera Nance Rogers. She married Bobby G. Crowder on February 1, 1979 and he preceded her in death on August 7, 2005. She is survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends. Mrs. Crowder was a graduate of Grove High School and was a member of Cottage Grove Baptist Church. Nira retired as a bookkeeper, formerly working with Tyson and Company, Balch Insurance Agency, Diggs Furniture and Commercial Bank and Trust. She was also a member of the Cottage Grove Lions Club.
