Patrick Joseph Hellings age 78 of Paris passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at St. Thomas Hospital West in Nashville. His body was cremated and no services are scheduled at this time. Mr. Hellings was born on August 3, 1938 in Kansas City, Missouri to Patrick Fredrick Hellings and Mary Elizabeth Howard Hellings, both preceded. He married Doris Arlene Black on May 12, 1962 and she preceded him in death on August 7, 2012. He is survived by two daughters: Dana Marie Land, Springville, TN and Laura Kinkead, Paris, TN; two sons: Douglas Allen (Jill) Hellings, Paris, TN and Jeff (Janine) Hellings, Kansas; two sisters: Patty (Ed) Thomas, Florida and Kathy Lewis, Florida; one brother: Jim (Peggy) Hellings, Kansas and by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Patrick is also preceded in death by a sister: Mary Ann McDowell. Mr. Hellings formerly served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He later went on to become a licensed Master Boat Captain, piloted many vessels upon U.S. waterways and worked as a boat broker until the time of his death.
