Paula Rena Willoughby, age 51, of Paris, Tennessee passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Henry County Medical Center. Her funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 12, 2019 with Bro. Gary Collier officiating. Family members will act as pallbearers and burial will follow the service in New Prospect Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled on Friday from 2:00 until 7:00 P.M. and again on Saturday after 11:00 A.M. until service time.
Paula Willoughby was born in Milan, Tennessee on February 13, 1967 to Morgan Arnold of Lexington, Tennessee and the late Jimmie Collins Arnold. She married Dale Willoughby of Paris on July 25, 1998. She is also survived by her daughter: Jacqueline Pierpoint of Big Sandy; sons: Justin (Tabitha Small) Pierpoint of Paris, Chris (Staci) Willoughby of Paris, and Jake Willoughby of Seattle, Washington; sisters: Christina (Ricky) Hardin of Henry, Cynthia (Chad) Hayes of Lexington; grandchildren: Wahaela Pierpoint, River Hargis, Rylie Small, Grace Willoughby, Gage Willoughby, Byron Wood, and Desiree Wood; daughter-in-law: Carol Willoughby of Michigan; several other family members and special friends.
Mrs. Willoughby never met a stranger. She played in two "Fast Pitch Softball World Series" as a pitcher (her pitch was clocked at 117 mph). Paula played all sports, was a Girl Scout leader and a Den Mother. She attended Native American Pow Wows where she was a Fancy Shawl Dancer and also taught dance to the young. Paula loved her Native American Family and her Motorcycle Families. She was a member of the Cherokee Nation of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, the Clan of the Wolf, and other Cherokee Bands. She was co founder of Native American Outreach Ministries which was a nonmonetary and nonprofit organization.
