Mrs. Peggy Carter Nichols passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016 at her residence. She was 74 years old. Her funeral service will be Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Campbell of Central Point Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Puryear City Cemetery. Visitation will be at McEvoy Funeral Home on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 PM and after 12:00 PM Tuesday, August 9, 2016 until service time at 2:00 PM. Mrs. Nichols was born on December 14, 1941 to the late Parker Carter and the late Rebecca Childers Carter. She was married to James A. "Nick" Nichols who preceded her in death on December 8, 2000. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Dean Burger) Davis of Puryear, TN and Melissa (Jeff) Allen of Puryear, TN; one sister, Linda (L.E.) Clifford of Florida; four grandchildren, Westley (Diana) Smith, Drew (fianc Caitie Jones) Smith, Rebecca (Kela Freeman) Smith, Rachael (fianc Dillon Madden) Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Aubree Holland and Dominique Luca. Peggy is also survived by longtime best friend Virginia Sawyers of Puyear, TN and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Nichols was an L.P.N. who formerly owned and operated the Puryear Nursing Home. She loved to sew and quilt, was an avid seamstress, loved crafts, painting and ceramics. She also enjoyed the outdoors and nature. SERVICES Funeral Service
