Polly Kathryn Parker was a woman who loved God, family, and friends. She was the wife of almost sixty years to Jesse Darden Parker, Sr., the mother of six children, grandmother of 15 grandchildren, and great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren. She graduated from Henry High School in 1958 and married Jesse Darden Parker (J.D.) on October 27, 1963. In 1967, they moved with their two sons, Harvey and Jesse, Jr., to La Mesa, California, while J.D. served in the U.S. Navy, stationed in San Diego. While in California, Polly and J.D. added two more boys, Timothy and William, and one girl, Kathryn, to the family. In 1974, they moved with their five children back to Paris, TN, where they built their home along Harvey Bowden Road. After the birth of their sixth child, Samuel, in 1983, J.D. reenlisted for another tour of duty in the U.S. Navy, and they moved to New York and Virginia before returning to their Tennessee home. Polly was the Director of Pre-School for New Covenant Church, in Camden, TN. In addition to her own children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, she touched the lives of many others with her kindness, good humor, generosity, and warmth. Polly is preceded in death by her husband Jesse Darden Parker, Sr., her oldest son, Harvey Ellison Parker, as well as her parents and oldest sibling, Frank Carter. A lover of writing and a devoted Christian, Polly enjoyed writing about her faith, family, and the beauties of Gods creation.
