Graveside service 1:30PM Saturday January 17, 2015 at Puryear City Cemetery with Bro. Don Campbell, Puryear Church of Christ officiating. Visitation 10:30AM - 1:00PM Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home. He was born in Paducah, KY to the late Tom and Elizabeth Knott Elkins. On April 9, 1967 he married Patsy Goodner Elkins, survives, Puryear, TN. Survived by sons: Shane (Jenny) Elkins, Newburgh, IN, Joshua (Brandi Mair) Elkins, Salt Lake City, UT; sisters; Carolyn Wallace, Dover, Faye Ward, Clarksville; brothers: Jimmy (Judy) Wynn, Puryear, sister-in-law: Donna Elkins, Dover; grandchildren: Michelle Childress, Spencer Elkins; great-grandchild: Kimber Childress; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Preceded by a brother: Joe Elkins. Mr. Elkins was a member of the Puryear Church of Christ. He was a barber for many years and worked in construction for many years. Best known for the last 40 years as an owner/operator, most recently with Houston Trucking.
