Funeral service 1:00 PM Thursday, McEvoy Chapel with Bro. Max Rogers officiating, burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are: Tim Parker, Timmy Parker, Sam Parker, Jessie Parker, Van Bowden and James Bowden. Visitation 4:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday and after 11:00 AM Thursday. Mrs. Bowden was born in Henry County to the late Morris L. and Tommie Compton Howard. In 1936 she married Harvey Thomas Bowden, he preceded August 2, 2006. She is survied by a foster son: J.D. (Polly) Parker, Paris, TN; nephew: Billy (Anna Fay) Bowden, Paris, TN; Niece: Patsy Bowden, Detroit, MI and also survived by great nieces and great nephews. Preceded by a brother: William Thomas Howard. Mrs. Bowden was a member of the Van Dyke Church of Christ. She was a former school teacher, teaching at several schools in the Henry County School System. She retired as Principal of the Van Dyke Community School.
