Funeral Service for Mr. Sloas will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday September 21, 2009 at McEvoy Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Bethel Cemetery Buchanan, TN. Visitation 4:00 until 8:00 Sunday and after 10:00 Monday. He is survived by his wife; Jean Willard Sloas, Buchanan, TN, daughters; Sondra (Norman) Bell, Burgaw, NC, Laura Sloas (Tom) Warrenville, IL, son; Michael Sloas, Chicago, IL, sister; Carol Gilmore, MO, eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren, preceded by his parents Thomas Harvey and Nealia Gray Sloas, Sr., sisters; Wanda Denniston, Geraldine Surrena, brothers; Thomas Harvey "T.H." Sloas, Jr, Willis and James A. Sloas. Ralph was an Air Force Veteran, retired from the trucking industry in the Chicago area as a mechanic, an avid fisherman, collector of antiques, trader of goods and Baptist by faith. He was widely known, had may friends and never met a stranger.
