Richard Lee Kendall, native Henry Countian died Sunday, September 27th . He was 72 years old. He was born December 4th 1942. He was the oldest son of Herbert and Annie Kendall both deceased.
He was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1960. Also, a Graduate of Tennessee (A & I) State University in 1964. He married Juanita Dees the same year. Briefly, after his marriage he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1965 and served his country in Germany. He completed his tour of duty in 1965. He returned from Germany as a civilian and worked as an auditor for the US Government in Washington, DC.
He is survived by a son, Richard Porter. Two brothers Herbert Earl Kendall former Henry County High School Assistant Principal and Principal of Grove Middle School, Curtis Kendall, of Houston, Texas, three sisters, Vanessa Ruth Kendall (Hobbs) of Clarksville, TN, Edwina Renee Kendall ( Atkinson) of Alexandria, Virginia, Uneeda Kendall (Milliken) of Winter Garden, Florida, and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Richard was a member of the former Rison Street Church of Christ and ministered under the leadership and guidance of evangelist Nathaniel Braden former minister of Sparks Street Church of Christ.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd at McEvoy Funeral Home starting at 10:00 with visitation and the Memorial service at 11:00.
Reverend Eleanor Kendall from Jackson, Tennessee will preside over the memorial service.
Repass will follow the services at Progressive Baptist Church.
