Funeral service 2:00PM Sunday at McEvoy Funeral Home, Pastor Joe Collins, Henry New Life Baptist Church will officiate, burial to follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons: Carl Tanner, Ricky Tanner, Randy Tanner, Chris Cherry, Matt Cherry and David Tanner. Visitation 4:00 - 8:00PM Saturday and after 10:00AM Sunday. He was born in Memphis to the late Richard H. and Lillie Bryan Tanner. On June 7, 1947 he married Wilmadell Lawrence Tanner, she preceded September 29, 2012. Survived by daughters: Linda Tanner, Peggy Tanner and Marilynn (Steve) Cherry all of Paris; sons: Paul (Carolyn) Tanner, Paris, Danny (Brenda) Tanner, Sparta, Jeff (Kathy) Tanner, Paris; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Tanner was Baptist by faith and had retired from the Henry County Board of Education.
