Robert Wallace Porter age 86 of Paris, TN passed away Friday, June 24, 2016 at the Henry County Healthcare Center. His funeral service will be at McEvoy Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. with burial to follow at Van Dyke Grove Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Porter will be at McEvoy Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. and after 12:00 P.M. Tuesday. Robert Porter was born on December 22, 1929 to the late William A. Porter, Sr. and Lois Wiseman Porter. On May 24, 1953 he was married to Shirley Ann who preceded on April 29, 2014. Robert is survived by daughters: Kathy (Ralph) Walker and Kerry (Shane) Moody both of Paris, TN; grandchildren: Adam Valentine of Murray, KY; Shandus (Ryan) Parish of Nashville, TN; Brandi, Brandon, and Briley Moody of Paris, TN; Chrissie (David) Hamblin of Newbern, TN; Justin (Shelly) Walker of Dyersburg, TN; great-grandchildren: Daylon Moody and Oakley Moody of Paris, TN; Maggie Parish and James Lueco Parish of Nashville, TN; Suzie Clark of Newbern, TN; Jon Ward, Haley, and Chloe Walker of Dyersburg, TN; special sister-in-law: Jean Porter of Paris, TN. He is preceded by brothers: William A. Porter, Jr. and James "J.L." Porter. Robert was a long time member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He formerly worked at Greer and Hamilton Oil Company as a driver and pump mechanic. Robert had a knack for fixing most anything. He also was known as "Grampy" and adored his grandchildren.
