CWO4 Ret. USCG Robert "Bob" Samuelson of Puryear, TN passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Henry County Medical Center. His memorial including masonic rites will be 7:00 PM Monday, July 15, 2019 at Buchanan United Methodist Church with Rev. H.B. Fields officiating. Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM at the church prior to the service. Bob Samuelson was born March 6, 1940 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin to the late Stanley Gordon Samuelson and the late Grace Dorothy Keith Samuelson. On November 26, 1958 he married Annie-Laurie Thomas Samuelson and she survives in Puryear, TN. He is also survived by one daughter, Julie-Ann Samuelson of Puryear, TN; one sister, Ruth Barrette of Janesville, WI; four grandchildren: Robert C. (Jennifer) Samuelson, Knowles (Maegan) Samuelson, Thomas (Samantha) Curlings, and Austin (Emily) Curlings; and eleven great grandchildren: Charlee and Emmilee Samuelson; Isabella, Knowles, and Juliette Samuelson; Leighton, Lawson, and Landry Curlings; Molly, Misha, and Anakin Curlings. Besides his parents, Mr. Samuelson was also preceded in death by a son, Stanley Francis Samuelson on May 19, 2017; a sister, Mary Elonich; and a brother, Keith Samuelson. Bob Samuelson joined the U.S. Coast Guard in September of 1957 and served 30 years. "Smooth sailing, Bob. Wishing you fair winds with following seas."
