Roger Dale Coleman, age 72 of Paris, Tennessee passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. His funeral service will be 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at McEvoy Funeral Home with Everette Holloway of Church of God of Prophecy to officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 16, 2021, from 4:00-8:00 PM at McEvoy Funeral Home and after 10:00 AM Wednesday, prior to the service at McEvoy Funeral Home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers and burial will follow the service in Bethesda Cemetery.
Roger Dale Coleman was born April 6, 1949, in Royal Oak, Michigan but his Tennessee roots ran deep. His parents were the late Joseph R. Coleman and the late Anna Pearl McBride Tucker. He married Barbara Evans Coleman on October 9, 1971 and she survives in Paris. Roger is also survived by his daughters, Amy (Wesley) Bomar, of Buchanan and Andrea Parrish of McKenzie; his sons, Jason (Kim) Coleman and Joseph Coleman all of Paris; and brother, Teddy Coleman. Roger loved children and was blessed by an abundance of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Mr. Coleman is also preceded in death by a son, Timothy Coleman; brother, Jimmy Gates and a brother, Larry Joe Coleman who died at an early age.
Roger was an outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing, enjoying many sunrises and sunsets from a tree stand or on the water. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Army. Roger retired from the CSX Railroad after 30 years of service. His love for his family and his country ran deep.
