A private family service was held Saturday, September 20, 2014 at McEvoy Funeral Home with his step-son Sean Alford officiating, burial followed at Poplar Grove Cemetery. Survived by his wife: Cindy Hunter, Columbia, SC; daughter: Carley Hunter; step-sons: Brandon Alford, Sean Alford; sisters: Diane Eubanks, Marge Chibe, Linnie Waters; brothers: Curtis Hurt, Anthony Palhegy, Eddie Palhegy; grandchildren: Tristan Alford, Jude Alford and Brooklyn Alford. Preceded by his parents: George and Ruby Hurt and a brother: Junior Hurt. Ron was a proud graduate of Georgia Tech's engineering program. He worked in Camden with DuPont for 32 years and with Invista for 10 years. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a great love for life that will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
