Roy A. Hill, age 84 of Paris, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at his residence. His funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 4, 2020 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Vance of Trinity United Methodist Church and Andy Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM Friday, January 3, 2020 and after 12:00 PM Saturday prior to the service at McEvoy Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers for Mr. Hill will be Scott Cobb, Steve Jones, Lee Jones, Chris Walker, Francisco Cervantes, and Justin Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Leigh and Fred Stier. Roy A. Hill was born August 23, 1935 in Manleyville, Tennessee to the late Charles Paschall "Pack" Hill and the late Ivy Marie Hastings Hill. On May 19, 1956 he married Georgia Ann Cobb Hill and she preceded him in death on April 7, 2016. Mr. Hill is survived by two daughters: Sandra Marie "Sandy" (Wayne) Odom and Teresa Ann "Terri" (Jim Bob) Weatherly all of Paris; four grandchildren: Adam (Cassie Jo) Weatherly, Alicia (Travis) Jones, Cassie Marie Weatherly, and Matthew Matheny all of Paris; five great grandchildren: Madison Matheny, Clay Weatherly, Olivia Kate Jones, Sawyer Matheny, and Drew Weatherly; sister-in-law, Roberta Hill of Paris; two brothers-in-law: Calvin (Jan) Jones of Paris and Kenneth McDaniel of Jackson, TN; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. Besides his parents and wife, Mr. Hill was also preceded in death by two sisters: Carolyn McDaniel and Ruth Jones (a triplet to Roy); a brother, Ray Hill (a triplet to Roy); and two great grandchildren: Carly-Jo Maree Weatherly and Tate Jerald Weatherly. Mr. Hill was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He retired from Emerson Electric and he co-owned and operated Southside Machine and Tool with his brother Ray Hill for 20+ years. He genuinely loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
