Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Futrell Yancy Redmon, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her daughters on Friday, June 10, 2022. Ruth's family and close friends visited with her during her final weeks and per her request, her body is to be cremated and a private family celebration of life to be planned for a later date.
Ruth Futrell Yancy Redmon was born April 3, 1937 in Paris, Tennessee to the late C.O. Futrell and the late Elizabeth Cole Futrell. She is survived by her husband, Jerald Redmon of Peoria, Illinois. Ruth was formerly married to the late Rev. Charles L. Yancy. She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Beech of Paris, Rachel Bishop and her husband Les of Bartlett, Tennessee, and Carol Elizabeth "Beth" Pafford of Paris; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and by several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Ruth was a member of First Baptist Church in Paris. She loved her years when she sang with the David Johnson Chorus. Ruth was known to be an encourager and uplifting to all she came in contact with.
