Ruth Ann Porter Ware, age 82, of Paris, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the Farms of Puryear. Her funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 19, 2020 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Reverend Otto Duncan to officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled after 12:00 P.M. Saturday until time of service. Ruth Ann Porter Ware was born February 12, 1938 in Lake County, Tennessee to the late Hafford Porter and the late Mattie Teague Porter. She is survived by her son, Harold (Teresa) Porter of Murray, Kentucky; grandchildren, Jerrell Porter of North Augusta, South Carolina and Marvin Johnson of Murray, Kentucky; great grandaughter, Kai Johnson; sisters, Ruby Jones of Paris, Tennessee and Helen Hagler of Wake Forest, North Carolina; brother, Charles Edward Porter; half brother, Hafford Porter, Jr.; also numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. Besides her parents, Ruth is also preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Dobbins and brothers, Haywood Porter and Thomas Porter. Ms. Ware was a longtime member of Quinn Chapel AME Church where she loved singing in the choir. Ruth also enjoyed sewing and cooking.
