Ruthie Mae Smith Parker

Ruthie Mae Smith Parker, age 90, of Paris, passed away at her residence on Sunday, November 1, 2026. Her funeral service will be on Monday, November 2nd, at McEvoy Funeral Home at 2:00 PM, with Randy Stephens and Dusty Stout officiating. Cremation will follow the service, and visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday at McEvoy Funeral Home before the service.

Ruthie was born in Paris on October 7, 1936, to the late Rexie Paul and Lola Mildred Harris Smith. She married Wallace Parker on May 27, 1955, and he preceded her in death on April 27, 2018.

Ruthie was a very faithful Christian and a wonderful, caring person to everyone she knew. She loved talking to and spending time with her twin sister Nelda.

She is survived by three children: Nancy Clark (Gary Hunter) of Paris, TN, Tammy Parker Powell of Springville, TN, and Michael (Lisa) Parker of Springville, TN; grandchildren: Allison (Will) Keith, Jeremy (Jennifer) Clark, Christy Thompson (Kerrie Howard), Joshua Powell, Adam (Ashlee) Powell, and Abby Grace (Ben) Bomar; two sisters-in-law: Lonnell Parker and Cynthia (Lars) Kearby; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, Ruthie was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Parker; sisters: Nelda Pinson and Jarutha Waymire; brothers: JW Smith and Paul Thomas Smith; grandchild, Brian Clark; and great-grandchild, Allie Thompson.
