Sherry Smith Bennett, age 71, of Paris, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at her residence. Her body is to be cremated and a remembrance of Sherry's life is planned at the close of the 9:30 A.M. church service on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at First United Methodist Church with the remembrance starting at 10:30 A.M. Pastor Joy Weathersbee of First Methodist will be conducting the service. Sherry Arminta Smith Bennett was born July 27, 1952 in Paris, Tennessee to the late Oliver Troy Smith and the late Audrey Mae Green Smith. She married Robert C. Bennett and he also preceded her in death. Ms. Bennett is survived by her daughter, Wendy Bennett of Union City; two step sons, Robert Bennett and Michael Bennett; grandchildren, Kristen Cole (Justin Brandon), Emma Ellis, and Alaina Ellis; great grandchild, Ava Mai Brandon; and by brother, Stephen Troy Smith of Paris. Sherry was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Paris. She served on a mission team to Ocean Springs, MS during the Hurricane Katrina cleanup, helping many folks in need.
