Funeral service 12:00 P.M. at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Henry Cemetery. Pallbearers to be family members.

She was born on August 9, 1927 in Gallaway, TN to the late J.S. Gooch and Bertie Robinson Gooch. On December 23, 1948 she married James Carl Lankford who preceded her in death in 1977.
She is survived by daughters, Linda Flowers, Paris, TN, Barbara (Mitch) Reynolds, Henry, TN, Judy Johnson, New Smyrna Beach, FL, Sherry (David) Smith, McKenzie, TN, Debbie (Steve) Burgess, Hendersonville, TN, Paula (David) Plumley, Ft. Wayne, IN; Son, James "Jimmy" Lankford Jr., Henry, TN; Brothers, Billie (Meryl) Gooch, Paris, TN, Mike (Margo) Gooch, Clewiston, FL; Grandchildren, Emily, Walt and Andrew Flowers, Renee Duke, Stephen Sturdivant, Whitney Allen, Kevin Reynolds, Eddie Slaughter, J.J. Johnson, Nathan Smith, Kayla Holmes, April and Jeremy Gilliam, Stacie Petring, Jennifer, Amber and Courtney Plumley. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
Preceded by sisters, Mabel McCoy, Sara Frances Lawson and Mae Denton; Brothers, Joe, Robert, Richard and Jackie Gooch.
She attended Huntingdon, TN schools, worked as a cook for Pioneer Restaurant in Henry and later at Henry School Cafeteria. She attended Henry Baptist Church, served in various capacities with Henry PTO, was a Brownie Troop leader and a GA Leader. She also coached softball in her church league. In retirement years she assisted her son, Jimmy in his fishing tournaments. She was instrumental in helping to found Henry Pioneer Day. She was a professional self-taught seamstress.
