Shirley Ann Hickman Newman

Mrs. Shirley Ann Hickman Newman, age 74, of Paris, TN, died Friday, February 11th 2011 at Saint Thomas Hospital, Nashville, TN. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m., Bro. Bobby Campbell of Central point Baptist Church officiating. Burial will take place on Thursday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Jefferson County, TN. Visitation will be on Monday evening at McEvoy Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. and after 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday until service time. David Arnold, Tim Olive, David Barnes, Jerry Webb, Dan Buerer, Chris Campbell, Monte Belew and Larry Nichols will serve as Pallbearers. Educators of Henry County will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Mrs. Newman is survived by a daughter; Dana (Eugene) Nichols, Murray, KY, grandchildren; Amy (Daniel) Bonar, Halls, TN, Justin (Jessica) Nichols, Sidonia, TN, great-grandchildren; Lily Grace Bonar and Aubrey Rose Bonar. She is preceded in death by parents; Charles Freeman and Nettie Lee Payne Hickman. Mrs. Newman has worked as a Teacher in Henry County for 40 years. She was a member of Central Point Baptist Church and played piano there. She was also a member of LLL which meets at First Baptist Church.
