Funeral service 2:00 PM Thursday, May 1st at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Joe McClure of Open Doors Community Church officiating, burial will follow at VanDyke Grove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Shane Moody, Andy Dunmire, David Hamblin, Ryan Parish, Adam Valentine and Brandon Moody. Ralph Walker will serve as honorary pallbearer. Visitation 4:00 - 8:00PM Wednesday and after 11:00AM Thursday. She was born in Paris and rasised in the home of the late Guy and Vera Harris. On May 24, 1953 she married and is survived by her husband Robert Wallace Porter, Paris. Survived by two daughters: Kathy (Ralph) Walker, Paris, Kerry (Shane) Moody, Paris; grandchildren: Adam Valentine, Shandus (Ryan) Parish, Brandi Moody, Brandon Moody, Briley Moody, Chrissie (David) Hamblin, Justin (Shelly) Walker; great-grandchildren: Daylon Moody, Maggie Parish, Suzie Clark, Jon Ward, Haley Walker and Chloe Walker. Preceded by a sister: Robbye Paschall. Shirley was a long time member of New Hope Baptist church. She was a homemaker and store manager of Holley's clothing store formerly of Paris, a seamstress and enjoyed quilting. A family member said she was a very proud Grammy and adored her grandchildren.
