Stephen Earl Rowlett

Stephen Earl Rowlett, age 61, of Buchanan, TN, passed away on February 10, 2026, at his residence. His service will be held at his church, Christ Lutheran, in Paris, TN, on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 2 pm. Visitation with the family is planned before the service at 1 pm at the church, as well as a brief reception at the church following the service. A Celebration of Life follows at Paris Station at 4 pm, where Stephen’s band, Soul Dog, will perform.

Stephen was born on July 29, 1964, in Granite City, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald Ralph Rowlett and Betty Lorraine Staggs Rowlett. He is survived by brothers Rev. Harold (Terry) Hughes and Lawrence (Portia) Hughes, and sister Donna (Jeffrey) Kieft, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Stephen graduated from Henry County High School and Murray State University. Stephen served in the US Army during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Stephen loved God, music, languages, his country, his friends and family, and his students! He was in the Memphis Blues Band during high school, as well as the Paris Community Band from 2018 to 2021, before joining “Soul Dog”. He was employed as a band assistant at WO Inman Middle School.
