Steven Earl Matheny, age 65 of Puryear passed away Monday, May 27, 2024, at Henry County Healthcare Center. His body is to be cremated and per his request, there will be no services. Steven Earl Matheny was born November 11, 1958, in Paris, TN to the late Alvin "Earl" Matheny and the late Geneva Hughes Matheny. Steve was a self-employed painter and handyman. He worked at Buchanan Resort for several years. Steven enjoyed the outdoors, the lake, and spending time with his family. Mr. Matheny is survived by four children: Alicia Lassiter, Matt Matheny, Cody (Taylor) Matheny, and Christopher Matheny; a brother, John (Angie) Matheny; a sister-in-law, Gala Matheny; and seven grandchildren. Besides his parents, Steven was also preceded in death by a brother, Tim Matheny.
