Tim Hayes, age 73, of Buchanan, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at his residence. His Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Friday, July 24, 2020 at the Buchanan United Methodist Church with Pastor Linda Hilliard and family members officiating. Named as honorary pallbearers are grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tim Hayes was born December 6, 1946 in Lexington, Tennessee to the late Milford Leon Hayes and the late Mary Lee Gray Hayes. He married Libby Robinson Hayes on October 9, 1965 and she survives in Buchanan, TN. Tim is also survived by his sons, Tommy (Tracy) Hayes of Buchanan and Jamie (Diane) Hayes of Clover, South Carolina; grandchildren, Jordan Thomas Hayes, Jamison Hayes, Jarrett Hayes, Jackson Hayes, Carly Hayes Alexander, Jordan Hope Hayes and Rachel Hayes; great-grandchildren, Luke Alexander, Kinsley Alexander and Jaiden Hayes; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hayes of Columbia, TN; also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. Besides his parents, Tim is also preceded in death by his son, Lee Ray Hayes; sister, Brenda Hays; and brother, Chris Hayes. Mr. Hayes worked at Emerson, Haldex and TDOT. He was an avid sportsman who loved duck hunting, coached little league baseball and Pop Warner football. He was a very devoted paw paw who rarely missed his grandchildrens sports and activities. Tim was a diehard Vols fan, a member of Masonic Lodge #772 in Buchanan and a member of Buchanan United Methodist Church. A family member said he was paw paw to all wayward children.
