Funeral service 1:30PM Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Cliff Evans of West Paris Baptist Church officiating, burial will follow at Cox Cemetery. Visitation beginning at 12:30PM Tuesday until time of service. Born in Cottage Grove, TN to the late William A. and Clemmie Lloyd Cox. On March 4, 1944 she married Cletis Wagner Whitaker, he preceded August 30, 1976. Survived by a son: Cletis Edward "Ed" (Kathryn) Whitaker, Brentwood, TN; sister: Ruby Gargus, Paris; grandchildren: Brian (Erin) Whitaker, Michelle (Joe) Crook, Jessica Whitaker; great-grandchildren: Charlotte and Jane Whitaker, Jeremiah and Sierra Crook also survived by several nieces and nephews. Preceded by two sisters and five brothers. Mrs. Whitaker was a member of West Paris Baptist Church. She graduated from Cottage Grove High School, retired from Holley Carburetor Plant and was formerly employed with Salant and Salant.
