Walter Lee Owen, age 73 of Paris, TN passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon, TN. His funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 13, 2021, at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Wall of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00 AM Saturday prior to the service at McEvoy Funeral Home. Walter Lee Owen was born February 5, 1948, in Paris, TN to the late Dewey Lafayette Owen and the late Mary Frances Tucker Owen. On May 7, 1982, he married Melba Sue Crutchfield Owen and she preceded him in death on October 26, 2000. Mr. Owen was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and he retired from Emerson Electric Co. Walter is survived by one sister, Norma Ann (Tommy) Rock of Guntown, MS; three brothers: Roy (Janice) Owen of Henry, TN, David (Brooksie) Owen of Paris, TN, and Wendell (Alica) Owen of Camden, TN; three step-daughters: Carol Brackins of Indiana, Elaine Risely of Florida, and, Gail Larson of Florida; one step-son, Chris Neely of Indiana; step-granddaughter, Kristy Ellis Alspaugh of Hollow Rock, TN; several step-grandchildren and great; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Walter was also preceded in death by a brother, Danny Owen; and a step-daughter, Phyllis Ellis.
