Funeral Service for Mrs. Shankle will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Olive Branch Cemetery. Visitation 4:00 until 8:00 Friday and after 10:00 Saturday. She is survived by her husband; R.H. "Buddy" Shankle, sons; Gary K. "Mike" Brookshire and William B."Bill" (Jane) Brookshire, step-sons; Richard, Tommy and Jerry Shankle, five grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, several great grandchildren, preceded by her parents William David "Willie" and Ruth Swayne Kendall, her first husband Veltman O."Pete" Brookshire, step-son Teddy Shankle and a brother; R.S. "Ralph" Kendall. Mrs. Shankle was a member of the Cottage Grove Baptist Church, Child Fellowship (Ministry for Children) and taught children's church. A homemaker, she graduated from Toler's Business College, City Recorder for Cottage Grove, TN and a Justice of the Peace, did the billing for the Northwest TN Water Dept., former secretary at Henry County General Hospital, member of the Cottage Grove Lions Club. Willene enjoyed fishing, gardening and her grandkids.
