William "Bill" Hart, age 97 of Paris, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Christian Care of McKenzie. His graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Henry, TN with Dr. Steve Gallimore officiating. Burial will follow and there will be no visitation prior to the graveside service. William H. "Bill" Hart was born January 23, 1923 in Henry County, Tennessee to the late Willie V. Hart and the late Clessie Estelle Enoch Hart. On November 15, 1947 he married Bobbie Sue Hastings Hart and she preceded him in death on December 22, 1987. On August 6, 1988 he married Katie Smith Hart and she preceded him in death on September 16, 2018. Bill graduated high school from Cottage Grove in 1943 and was drafted into the United States Army later that year where he served in the Pacific as a radio switchboard operator for company A 88th chemical mortar battalion 77th division. He graduated Tolers Business College in 1947; William R. Moore Technology College in 1957; entered the restaurant business for a few years; and eventually worked and retired as a master tool maker for Midland Ross/Midland Brake. He was a master mason 32 degree Scottish rite and a deacon at Birds Creek Baptist Church. Daddy Bill is survived by two daughters: Janice Anderson of Covington, TN and Sherry "Sam" Steele of Henry, TN; one son, Bobby (Charlotte) Hart of Paris, TN; two step-sons: Mike (Cindy) Snyder and Mark (Vicki) Snyder all of Paris; eleven grandchildren: Candi (Kevin) Mitchell, Chris (Katelyn) Hopkins, Stacey (Misti) Steele, Brian (Michelle) Hopkins, Josh Anderson, J.H. (Sasha) Wallace, Abigail Hart, Jackie (Shannon) Dossey, Kari (Kevin) Pulley, Meredith (Will) Tidwell and Justin (Tara) Watkins; fourteen great grandchildren: Beau Mitchell, Gigi Mitchell, Brianna Porter, Hannah Hopkins, Tucker Hopkins, Corey Hopkins, Bristol Steele, Calan McManus, Koby McManus, Kinley Pulley, Kollins Pulley, Hannah Tidwell, Baylen Tidwell, and Autstin Weaver; four sisters: Joyce (Leon) Wofford, Lois (Hugh) Pinson, Margaret (Bill) Stoner and Gail (Danny) Beasley; two brothers: David Hart and Gerald (Bobbi) Hart; sister-in-law, Rufalene Hastings of Henry, TN; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his parents and wives, Bill was also preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Hart; a son-in-law, A.E. Anderson; a grandchild, Alydia Hart; a great grandchild, Tyee Hart; and three brothers: Benjamin "Bud" Hart, Gene Hart and Kenneth Hart.
