Willie Mae Allen French age 98 of Paris, TN passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Paris Healthcare Center. Her funeral is scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 2, 2017 at McEvoy Funeral Home, Roger Smith of Church of God of Prophecy in Paris will officiate, and burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Her visitation will be held after 10:00 A.M. on Thursday prior to service time. Named as Pallbearers are Ronnie Williams, Dean Lemonds, David French, Nash Green, Richard Cantrell, and Carlton Brewer.
Mrs. French was born March 8, 1918 in Bemis, TN to the late Jessie L. Allen and Lucille Rayborn Allen. She married Otis Rye French on September 5, 1935 who preceded her in death on August 3, 2002. She is survived by daughters: Mary Merrell, Big Sandy, TN, Sue (Carlton) Brewer, Martha Lemonds, and Linda (Richard) Cantrell all of Paris, TN; son: Jerry (Wanda) French, Paris, TN; son-in-law: Kenny James, Paris, TN; sisters: Kathaleen Walter and Zelma Gross, both of Paris and Ruth Zartman, Rochester, IN; brothers: Wayne (Jenna) Allen, Paris, TN, Jim (Vivian) Allen, Big Sandy, TN; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. French was also preceded in death by daughters: Jean Williams and Sharon James; sons-in-law: Johnie Williams and Johnny Lemonds; sisters: Betty Mathis and Wanda Hartley; brothers: Roy Allen and Ray Allen.
Mrs. French was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Paris. She also worked as a caregiver for several years. Willie Mae enjoyed making quilt tops and embroidery.
