Funeral service 2:00PM Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Wimberley of the Cottage Grove United Methodist Charge officiating, burial will follow at Walker Cemetery. Visitation 4:00 - 7:00PM Friday and after 12:00PM Saturday. Willis C. Red Stigall, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2013, at his residence with his wife Carol beside him. He was born May 7, 1928, in Zach, Tennessee to the late Porter Felix Stigall and Cora Max Johnson Stigall. He was married to Carol Pullen Herbison on April 8, 1984. Both retired from Midland Brake in the mid to late 90s. They loved to take road trips to visit their families and see new sites. Willis moved to Paris in 1949 to study radio and television repair. He operated his own business for several years before going to work for Midland Brake in 1965. Willis was known to his friends as Red, and better known to his family and grandchildren as Granddaddy Red. Red served in the Army Air Force in Japan during WWII. He was a member of the Cottage Grove Methodist Church. In addition to his wife, Carol, he leaves seven children: Judy (Steve) Caldwell, Mike (Brenda) Stigall, Steve (Shirley) Stigall, Bart (Alisha), Jon, Lori and Mark Herbison. Fifteen Grandchildren: Chris, Bryan, Michael Wayne, Melody, Bethany, Aaron, Jason, Daniel, Angie, Jake, Adam, Alex, Erin, Natalie and Carrie. Eleven Great Grandchildren: Katelyn, Brandon, Drew, Mitchell, McKenzie, Megan Kate, Molly, Amora, Coltin, Madison, and Megan Marie. One sister, Lyndia, and Sister-in-law, Clattie Stigall. Several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Kevin Stigall, in 2008. Pallbearers will be: Michael Wayne, Jason, and Melody Stigall, Adam Herbison, and Coltin VanDyke. McEvoy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
