Mr. Willis A. Wynn age 94 of Henry, Tennessee formerly of Elkhorn for over 50 years, passed away Wednesday August 9, 2017 at his residence. His funeral service will be held on Friday August 11, 2017, 1:30 P.M. at McEvoy Funeral Home with Gary Collier of First United Methodist Church and Russell Ragsdale of Friendship Baptist Church presiding. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled after 10:00 A.M. on Friday until service time.
Mr. Wynn was born on April 15, 1923 in Henry County to the late Andrew Jackson Wynn and Ivy Alma Lemonds Wynn. He married Ina Mae Franklin Wynn on July 5, 1946 and she survives in Henry. Willis is also survived by his daughters: Patsy (Phillip) Jackson of Paris and Linda (Ricky D.) Nash of Henry; grandchildren: Lauri Jackson (Mark) Torsak, Cliff Garrett (Nelah) Jackson, Chris Steven Turman, Michael Andrew (Kristin) Turman, Michael Damon (Katie) Nash; great-grandchildren: seven; sisters: Modena Wheatley, Flossie York, Shirley Evans, Lottie Hopper, Margie Nanney, Velma Bolding; former neighbors, church members and special friends: Danny and Katie Williams. He is also preceded by several sisters and brothers.
Mr. Wynn was a longtime member and Deacon of Friendship Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming, working cattle and coon hunting. Willis was also talented in woodworking and welding, making many dough bowls and yard art for family and friends. A family member said he also really loved playing with his grandchildren.
