Zora Mae Sanders, age 88, of Paris, passed away at her residence on Sunday, June 28, 2026. Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Friday, July 3, 2026, at the Church of the Living God, 116 S. Porter St. in Paris, conducted by Bishop T.L. Taylor and Bro. Eddie Sanders. Burial will follow services in Greenwood Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers, and Brandon Dobbins as an honorary pallbearer.
Zora was born October 24, 1937 in Cottage Grove, TN, to the late Herschel Olive and the late Jewel Page Olive. She married Homer Sanders, Sr. on May 28, 1966, and he preceded her in death on May 19, 1996. Mrs. Sanders is survived by her daughters, Traccie (James Edward, Jr.) Williams, Laurice Taylor Harris, Angelor (Cortez) Thompson, Elaine Sanders and Ann Davis, all of Paris; sons, James Edward (Peggy) Taylor and Mitchell Taylor of Paris, Bishop T.L. (Angela) Taylor of Texarkana, AR, Gary Sanders of Paris, and Eddie (Annette) Sanders of Murfreesboro; daughter-in-law, Peggy Sanders of Paris; sisters, Verlynn Gaines of Murray, Ky and Donna (Luis) Diaz of Buffalo, NY; also by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Zora was also preceded in death by daughter, Faye Johnson; son, Homer Sanders, Jr.; sisters, Mildred Todd, Jennie Kennely, Ester Blakemore, Bessie Williams, Pauline Byars, Virginia Skinner, and Joy Diggs; brothers, Herschel “Junior” Olive, Jr., Bobby Olive, Sylvester Olive, and R.C. Olive.
Mrs. Sanders was a lifetime member of the Church of the Living God. She was well known as a great cook and was also a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
